Fall 2024 Allocation

Fellow Travelers,

I bought a new hat for harvest the other day, and it got me thinking. I wear a lot of hats throughout the year—each one representing a different role I take on. There’s the hospitality hat, the HR hat, the sales hat, the finance hat, the janitor hat, and even the truck driver hat. Of course, I can’t forget the winemaker hat, the mechanic hat, and the label designer hat. It’s a lot to juggle, but each one has its role to play.

But my favorite, by far, is my harvest hat. There’s something magical about harvest season. It’s the culmination of a year’s work in the vineyard, and I love every moment of it. The fermentation process, the thrill of getting just one shot to make it right—it’s both stressful and exhilarating. I love driving up and down the Central Coast, collecting fruit from our grower partners who have spent the year nurturing the vines. It’s their handoff to us, and there’s a sense of responsibility that comes with it. I thrive on the challenge, the rush, and the opportunity to turn those grapes into something special.

We all wear many hats, and it’s my pleasure to make wines that fit whichever one you’re wearing today. Whether it’s a baseball cap, a brunch hat, or a hat that represents one of your many roles in life, I hope you’ll find the perfect moment to enjoy these bottles. Each one tells a piece of our story, and I hope it adds something special to yours.
